The National Professional Fastpitch League (NPF) consists of multiple international and American teams. The Cleveland Comets is made up of most of the Women's Mexican National Team, minus a few players. In the 2019 season, playing in the NPF was a solid way to prepare the team for the Softball Americas Qualifier in Canada. This year, the Cleveland Comets are returning to the NPF, starting their play in April (against Canadian Wild) and moving on to the summer months of May and June.
The NPF is made up of:
California Commotion: California
Aussie Peppers (Team Australia): Minnesota
Canadian Wild (Team Canada): Illinois
Chicago Bandits: Illinois
Beijing Eagles (Chinese National Team): Florida
The schedule is yet to be announced, but there is a new series structure, where there will no longer be a head to head, home and away series, but a multi-team event. Commissioner Cheri Kempf says this change was made to accommodate the three Olympic Teams in the NPF & to engage the fans so they can have a better experience.
