After a 4th place finish at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the Mexican National Softball Federation (FMS) will hold open tryouts for the junior’s & women’s national team for players with Mexican heritage on two separate dates and locations in the state of California.

Try Out #1:

Dates: December 20-21, 2021

Check In: December 20 at 8:30 am

Times: December 20 (9 am – 1 pm & 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm) & December 21 (9 am – 2 pm)

Location: Zion Church/School - (Faith Field) Address:222 N. East Street, Anaheim, CA 92805

Cost: $100 US dollar non-refundable – participant will receive a Mexico T-shirt

Try Out #2:

Dates: January 8-9, 2022

Check In: January 8 at 8:30 am

Times: January 8 (9 am – 1 pm & 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm) & January 9 (9 am – 2 pm)

Location: Madera South High School, 13152 South Pine Street, Madera, CA 93637

Cost: $100 US dollar non-refundable – participant will receive a Mexico T-shirt

NOTE: Players only need to attend ONE of the two tryouts in order to be eligible to be selected to the junior’s or the women’s national team.

The players selected for the 15 & Under and the junior’s team, (players born after 2007-2009), will have the chance to compete for a final roster spot for the following events:

· 15 & Under – Pan-American Qualifier 2022 and the World Baseball Softball (WBSC) in 2023

· Junior’s – World Baseball Softball Confederation qualifier in 2023 (athlete born 2005-2006), pre-World Cup in 2024 (athletes born 2006-2007) and the Junior’s World Cup in 2025 (athletes born in 2007-2008)

While the players selected for the women’s team will have the chance to compete for a spot on the national team to compete in a series versus Team Florida to be held in Mexico City and Sarasota, Florida in the summer of 2022; exhibition games in Sarasota versus Florida Gulf Coast League, June (….); exhibition games in Colorado, June 27-30 as preparation for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC); the World Games, July 7-17, 2022 to be held in Birmingham, Alabama; the qualifier to the Central American Games in August of 2022; the Central American and the Caribbean Games June 2023 in El Salvador; the Pan American Games to be held in Chile November 2023 and the World Baseball Softball World Cup in 2024.
